Our Pastor

It is my joy to serve as Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Mooresburg, Tennessee, and I am blessed to see what God is doing in our church.  I would like to personally thank you for viewing our website, and invite you to come and join us and see what Jesus can do for you.

I was saved on January 9, 1989 at the age of 8 years old. My testimony begins the Sunday before I was saved  at Central Point Baptist Church in Rutledge, Tennessee.  On this particular Sunday, the Lord began dealing with me about my soul, and drawing me to salvation. I spoke with one of the deacons of the church, and asked him questions about being saved; he basically left it up to me, and did not try to influence me in any way. The next morning the Lord came where I was at in the back of my parents’ home and He invited me to trust Him and call upon His name for salvation. I remembered the verse from Revelation 3:20 which states; Behold I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.  I literally believed if I called upon the Lord, while He was knocking on my heart, He would come and live in me and be my Saviour. I humbly ask the Lord into my heart using the prayer “come on in dear Lord” and He saved me that day. Hallelujah!

Later in my life when I was 24 years old, God called me to preach on April 28, 2005; after months of prayer and seeking His will for my life, I surrendered on May 1, 2005.  My first appointment was May 8, 2005 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Tennessee.

I have earned a Doctorate in Theology from V.B.C. Bible Institute in Roan Mountain, Tennessee, and have 12 years in the ministry, during which I have been blessed to see God honor His word in every opportunity He has given me to serve.
